Tray Hay Feeder
Feature: Waste Saving

Benefit: The hay and silage is contained within the sides of the Tray Hay Feeders. This prevents the feed from being wasted by trampling, soiling, urine. The feed is suspended off the ground which means that moisture doesn’t affect the bottom of the bales. Round bales are positioned so that they naturally drain water off the top. This is significant because the top of the bale is eaten last which means that the draining feature lasts until the bale is completely eaten.
Feature: Spill Trays and Tray End

Benefit: The feed that the cattle, horses, etc. eat from the suspended area that doesn’t get eaten falls in the spill trays. This prevents the hay falling on the ground and being trampled into the ground.

The Tray Hay Feeder Single has 2 spill trays and the Tray Hay Feeder Double has 4. There is a small gap between the Tray End Sheet and Spill Tray to allow any moisture to exit while not being large enough for feed to fall out freely.

Double Tray
Feature: Hay under compression

Benefit: When the hay is under its own weight and suspended against the bars, it makes accessing the hay harder for the stock. This is because the hay is not loose and freely accessible. Stock are forced to take less in per mouthful which means they are less likely to spill what they have worked for on the ground.
under compression
Feature: Gusset reinforcing

Benefit: Each corner of the frame has 2 gussets to stand up to pressure from any angle. This makes them strong enough for rough treatment of cattle and to be transported by skidded them on their frames.

Feature: Flat Packing Feeder (image attached)

Benefit: The ability of flat packing has a double saving effect:
1) transport costs; and
2) assembly costs.
The transport costs are dramatically reduced because each feeder is flat-packed into a space of 1900 x 1000 x 200 mm. Assembly costs are also saved, the assembly of the Cradle Hay Feeders usually takes between 30 and 60 minutes.

Feature: Skid

Benefit: Skid allows the feeder to be dragged from paddock to paddock while holding hay. They skid plates are made from 3mm plate that have a safety fold on the protruding edge.
